Update

Dear Family, Friends & Supporters,

I pray 2012 has been an amazing year so far for each of you and that God’s blessings have been poured out on you and your families. I want to take a few minutes to give you an update. As my time in Africa was coming to the end, I began seeking what God had for me next. He began stirring in me that He had something new for me to start. As I returned from Africa, things slowly started falling into place. After several meetings with Mrs. Sherrie, we both believed God was leading us to begin a ministry reaching out to the forgotten children around the world. We each spent a week praying separately about the name of the ministry and other details.
As we know, God hears our prayers. When we met again, God had given Mrs. Sherrie the name “Red Thread Ministries,” which comes from the story of Rahab in Joshua 2. God had given me the tag line “Going Beyond Compassion” because we are more than just showing compassion one child at a time. We are going beyond that and training others to show compassion so that more children are reached. God also gave me the scriptures that we are to build this ministry on and that is Psalm 82:3&4, “Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people.”
In December 2011 Red Thread Ministries was formed. We launched with a Christmas Outreach where we provided meals and toys for families in need. This was a huge success! This past month, we were blessed to have been given an exhibit at the Greater Things Compassion Conference where we were able to network with some amazing church and ministry leaders.

Red Thread’s future opportunities:

•We have been invited to Cape Town, South Africa by Kevin and Jennifer Jarreau, who have recently moved to Cape Town to head up the children’s ministry at Lofdal Ministries. They have asked us to come this month and host a Children’s Ministry workshop. Our focus for this trip will be showing the locals the need for Children’s Ministry volunteers, as well as teaching them the basics of Children’s Ministry.

•We have also been asked to bring a medical team to Swaziland Africa at the end of August, where we will host a four day medical clinic.

•We will be taking a Children’s team to Cape Town, South Africa at the end of September to do more intense Children’s Ministry training as well as a 3 day VBS in the local squatter camps.

•We will be doing local outreaches in the Baton Rouge area for Thanksgiving and Christmas

Ways to be a part of Red Thread:

I am so excited about what God is doing and is going to do through Red Thread Ministries, and there are so many ways you can be a part too. Just a few are listed below.

•Our Prayer Team
•Mission Trips
•Monthly Donor
•Local Outreaches

I ask that you will prayerfully consider how God is leading you to be a part of Red Thread Ministries. If you have any questions or would like more information, you can email me at becky@redthreadministries.org. You can also check out our website at www.redthreadministries.org.

Merry Christmas!!!

Dear Family, Friends & Supporters,

I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
What an amazing & adventurous year 2011 has been, from Africa to Honduras to now starting Red Thread Ministries. This year God has opened my eyes even more to the needs of His children throughout the world; from those enslaved in human trafficking to those living in poverty. God has shown me He has so much more for me to do, so through the past couple months God has led me to partner with Ronnie & Sherrie May to begin Red Thread Ministries to rescue and help those in need. No one ministry can ever touch the needs of all those hurting in our world. Red Thread Ministries wants to offer a hand up. Our desire is to help those who cannot help themselves for the sake of the children. By helping the parent or caregiver with basic needs, we are helping to care for the needs of the children in that family.
We are launching Red Thread Ministries with a Christmas Outreach called "Christmas Wrap-Up". Join us this Christmas Season as we reach out to some of those in need in the Baton Rouge area. A gift of $50 will provide a family of four with Christmas dinner, a gift for each child and a book about the true meaning of Christmas, or if you prefer to purchase these items yourself we will make sure they are delivered to one of these precious families. This is the perfect gift for your mission minded family and friends, your children's teachers, coaches, your co-workers and anyone else on your Christmas list. With your generous response you will receive a Christmas card for you to present to your honoree reflecting the contribution you have made to a needy home in their name. As you wrap up your Christmas season, thank you for wrapping up a Christmas someone will never forget.
For more information or to follow along with Red Thread Ministries outreaches & events visit www.redthreadministries.blogspot.com or if you are on Facebook "like" our page Red Thread Ministries. If you feel led to partner with us for the Christmas Wrap-Up or as a monthly supporter you can give online or make checks payable to Red Thread Ministries and mail to 17870 Lake Azalea Dr. B.R. LA 70817

I Pray you and your family have a blessed holiday season!
Love,
Becky

I'M BACK!!!!

What an amazing 6 months I just finished in Mozambique, Africa. It was a great honor to serve our HPC campus there and such a huge growing experience for me spiritually as well.

The campus has now started another service on Sunday nights causing attendance to soar. First ever nursery for 0-18 months was started and 2 new employees were added that I had the privilege to train. They will assist Pastor Isaac Williams and free him up to do more hands on with the people of the community that is ever growing.

I've had alot of "what's next Becky?" questions since my return. There are several mission opportunities in the future I am praying about, I am now in a time of transition as I seek the Lord for what the next step He has for me to take. I ask that you would please join with me in prayer as I seek the Lords will for this next season of my life. I can't say thank you enough for this opportunity.

All for His Glory!
